Always Moving Forward
Always Moving Forward
Prayer is a conduit for communicating with Source, Spirit, the Universe, whatever term you use. Studies have shown that prayer contributes to our well-being. When we get quiet, after meditation, and we can converse with Source. It’s a two-way communication. We can ask questions, make our desires known, be grateful, and we can get answers if we sit quietly and wait for a reply. Utilizing prayer is a powerful internal pivot away from the ego and towards listening to our hearts, the soul’s voice.
Pivoting is a shift in our approach to a situation. By embracing the power of prayer, we can pivot towards different ways of perceiving the situations we find ourselves. Prayer enhances two-way communication so that we can find the best answer for ourselves. The way to handle the state we are in is to pray. By doing so, we have sought the internal solution from our soul, which is always connected to Source.
The reality is, my prayers don’t change God. But, I am convinced prayer changes me. Praying boldly boots me out of that stale place of religious habit into an authentic connection with God Himself. ~ Lysa TerKeurst
Faith is a developmental process. It requires us to work it like a muscle. So that we build up our confidence in trusting the internal solutions that our heart provides. The heart’s voice can lead us to discern what’s best for us as we apply the new awareness we have awakened to understand. With prayer, we allow this different understanding to pivot us in the direction we are supposed to go.
Knowledge from Source, engages with our thoughts, thus perpetuating us into new-found territory that feels right for us. The ego allows others to influence our decisions, yet they aren’t us. If we do as others want, we lose out on the results that we were meant to have based on what our soul knows is in our best interest. Don’t let the ego to fill you with so much fear that you are afraid to pivot towards faith. Turning to prayer allows for tactical modifications that move us toward our dreams. The dreams only our heart knows.
True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that – it is a spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. ~ Charles Spurgeon
As we know, self-growth is fundamental in character development and improving your skillset. But true wisdom comes through prayer. This communication through your soul to Source allows the internal knowledge to arise from our heart. Yet we have to decide to pursue personal development. It’s a choice, a pivot point in our lives of desiring to have a different perspective, new knowledge, to expand our horizons.
Prayer, like personal development, takes discipline. It’s an exercise that we should do daily as part of our grounding routines. The practice of praying helps us deal with our disappointments by allowing our minds to talk through them with our hearts. It will enable us to hear the alternatives our soul has for the conditions around us, thus allowing us to move towards expansion and growth.
Be not forgetful of prayer. Every time you pray, if your prayer is sincere, there will be a new feeling and new meaning in it, which will give you fresh courage, and you will understand that prayer is an education. ~ Fyodor Dostoevsky
For prayer to be meaningful to us, we must be honest with our authentic selves. We need to see the state we find ourselves in as clearly as possible, and the two-way communication of prayer allows this. The ability to evaluate where we are enables us to work towards the right plan of action.
Honesty comes through the meditation, the silence of being silent, and listening to the still small voice within us rising. To have authentic communication via prayer, we need to be open and vulnerable as to our concerns. Pivoting away from hiding the negative thoughts of the ego and towards honest prayer allows an open dialogue to occur. The heart to heart exchange enables us to get clear responses, which helps us to move forward with peace and conviction.
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If you aren’t honest with yourself, then you don’t know the direction you need to go in, and therefore don’t see what you need. Without this knowledge, you cannot be deliberate in asking Source. It’s not about asking due to lack, as we aren’t weak or inadequate. We know who we are. Therefore we are praying for us to see the tools already provided to us to move us out of this situation.
We are the embodiment of wisdom, which our soul already knows if we are willing to get quiet and listen. Therefore, our fears are what stops us from moving in the direction we are being led. By intentionally praying for our concerns to be released, we are allowing our authentic selves to emerge and take the right actions. These internal pivots are the ones our heart is urging us to make. Intentional prayer is simple, happens in the present moment, and it requires an open heart. Our ego tries to make it more complicated then it is to keep us from doing it.
The wise man in the storm prays God not for safety from danger but for deliverance from fear. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Honest prayer is not ego-based on our wants. The pleading we do based on feeling that we lack in any way is not prayer. We are to remember who we are, a human being connected to Source. This oneness allows us to pray not for wants, but because we want to communicate. The dialogue is a humbling experience as we recognize the duality of this world fades away into the oneness prayer enables.
When oneness takes hold, we pray by letting go of the needs of this world and become grateful for the connection we have with Source. We allow prayer to be a quiet time of listening to our hearts, an offering of love. Then we meditate in silence so that we can hear for the guidance we need to move us forward.
We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties. ~ Oswald Chambers
The first action we are to take in any situation is to pray. Talking to Source is the first step, followed by a time to listen through meditation. Most people don’t realize that prayer is an action step. It’s an act we take upon ourselves so that we can obtain guidance and wisdom in the next best phase.
Pivoting from any other action to prayer is powerful. It shows the awareness one has that the knowledge we seek is internal. We all feel that doing something outward is what needs to be done, but we aren’t aware that the best action we should start with is to turn inward. By internally pivoting, we allow our innate wisdom to rise-up and lead the way towards our dreams.
Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Once we begin to pray humbly, we leave the ego’s wants behind us, and we notice that our emotions begin to change. We allow stress to be released, there’s a lightness to our presence, there’s an increase in energy in our bodies, and peace settles upon us. We are feeling love and support, and love is given back through gratitude.
There is a realization that the details of our lives will be taken care of, and our one responsibility is to love unconditionally. This emotional fulfillment we gain only through prayer as we are dialoguing directly with Source, and therefore, the love we seek in the world is satisfied, as are all our needs.
God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. ~ C.S. Lewis
In the end, the prayer of our heart is ultimately to experience the oneness of unconditional love. The two-way communication with Source that is called prayer is a powerful internal pivot. It turns us towards faith, self-growth, humility, makes our intentions clear, forces us to be honest with ourselves, fulfills us emotionally, and is the first action step we need to take.
This oneness with Source provides us with the realization that we’re not alone. We are always connected not just to Spirit but to one another, as there is no separation. Through prayer, we experience oneness; through this action, miracles occur by expressing unconditional love.
Pivoting is just a change in direction based on new information, a different perspective what better way is there to get guidance than through prayer, a dialogue with Spirit. When we allow silence to come in, we enable ourselves to hear the small still voice that speaks wisdom to our heart and soul.
The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays. ~ Soren Kierkegaard
